Step 4: Understanding Light

So you know about composition and how to get the most out of your camera? Good! Now it’s time to focus on something that can quite simply, make or break your shot.

During the course you will start to understand light and how light affects every shot you take.



Step 5: Mentoring Feedback

One of the courses main features is it’s mentoring. In order for you to improve your family photos it’s important to get constructive feedback on your images.

At this point you will submit a selection of images to your course tutor. They may ask you a few questions about the scenario before offering you constructive criticism on how you can improve.



Step 6: Challenge

After the mentoring feedback your tutor will set you a specific challenge. In some cases this may be directly related to your goal however in other cases it could be quite obscure such as heading out and taking a landscape shot.

It might be a case of changing things up a little. We can take a look at your images and suggest how you could better utilise your camera.



Step 3: Composition & Photography Rules

This part of the course looks into the different rules that govern photography and how these rules can help improve your shots.

Sometimes it’s a case of knowing when to break the rules!



Step 4: ISO, Aperture & Shutter Speed

A deep understanding of ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed is required before you can truly start utilising them in your photography.

You will need to ask yourself questions such as? What effect do I want to use on this image? How will it affect my overall composition?

Understanding the golden triangle can pretty much dictate you entire shot.



Step 5: Mastering Light

Is there anything more important in photography that being able to master light?

Light can massively change the outcome of your photo setting a mood and tone of your shot that is almost impossible to recreate in post.

Step 1: Composition

How can you set up your shot to ensure that you get the most out of the composition. What lens should you use? Are you using the right settings? Should you wait for golden hour?

Our composition module takes a look at different photographic principles that go into composition. More importantly it looks at different techniques that you can utilise to ensure you create the best images possible.



Step 2: Photography Rules

With landscape photography it’s always important to understand the different photographic rules that a commonly followed. Understanding these rules allows you to create the perfect composition and, as a result, add power and strength to your photos.



Step 3: Understanding Light

Traditionally speaking you will always be at the mercy of light when you are trying to take scenery shots.

While the module itself will look at how you can use light to improve your shots it’s more important as a landscape photographer to help you plan when you are going to capture each shot.

Planning to take the shot at sunrise will result in a very different shot to if you head out at noon.



Step 4: Photography Equipment

Choosing the right equipment for your shot it is important. During the module we will look at the most commonly used equipment plus how it can be used to take your shots to the next level.

From bracketing to exposure testing, this module guide will allow you to plan your perfect landscape image.



Step 5: Photoshop

Most of the time the scenery is perfect enough, heck that’s probably the reason you have decided to take the shot in the first place.

In this module we will look specifically at how photoshop and post production can help perfect an already great shots and how color correction can help advance your shots even further.

Goal: How to be a better all rounder

You’ve not really got a clear goal but you just want to be a better all round photographer. Knowing you can take a nice family group photo or that shots of the sunrise is what’s important to you.

This track is perfect for anybody just wanting to improve as a photographer. Knowing they are fully equipped to capture any scenario is what this learning path is all about.



Step 1: Fundamentals of Photography Course

Work through the complete fundamentals of photography course covering everything from wedding photography 101 to photoshop retouching while learning common mistakes you should avoid.

A step by step learning program designed to make you an all round better photographer. Suitable for complete beginners right through to professional photographers.



Step 2: Mentoring

You’ve mastered our online modules but are looking for support and guidance to help improve your photos. Well guess what, you are in luck.
